Perhaps it's the older guy coming out in me but going off your other posts your relatively new to playing. IMO I think your focusing too much on bling and
not enough on gaining experience. I know you said you want to feel confident in your equipment but that doesn't mean you have to drop $2000 on gear. The
one thing that bothers veteran players more than anything is "agglets" that drop tons of money on gear and then can't justify it with their
playing ability. I'm not saying you aren't any good, I'm saying focus on your game more than your gear. Even if you have plenty of spare cash work
your way up and make sure this is something your dedicated to. The average lifespan of a new paintball player is like 1-2 years. Don't worry about your
image before your game. I have a hundred times more respect for the guys in jeans and playing with ions that want to learn than I do for the guys decked out in
the latest and greatest that have no clue how to tech their gun and care more about how they're perceived rather than how they play. Don't take this as
a hateful post, take it as some friendly advice. I'll get off my soapbox now, lol.

WOW!!! I don't think u get the fact that when you know gear isn't the issue it makes u focus more and eliminates excuses u make to yourself. its not an
image thing... its an excuse thing. sorry if I pissed off the paintball world by wanting the best stuff.
also when ur trying to get peeps together to play, comradery helps. ie... gear, guns, investment keeps the team coming back! thanks for ur input on what marker to get. Donkey Killers !!!

If your the kind of person that uses your gear to make excuses to begin with, then buying the latest and greatest isn't going to help you solve that
problem. You could have bought 4, 06 egos for what you paid for the 09. And yes I did recommend the ego and to pick one up used on Nation and save alot of
money. Any ego is going to serve your purpose just fine. They are all reliable, they all shoot semi or 10bps for tourneys. Money doesn't keep a team
together, hard work, dedication and attitude keeps a team together. If you build your team off those traits you'll still have a team when money falls
short. You guys haven't played a tourney yet and your already buying all this top-of-the-line gear, custom jerseys, etc. So what happens when you get
wrecked the first few times? It's going to happen, it happens to everyone. You won't be able to make excuses about your gear so that brings it all back
on you. That's when you find out your teammates aren't really into the tourney scene and having their stuff pushed in after all. It takes a certain
attitude to get your ass handed to you and still walk off the field smiling. The good teams out there didn't get that way overnight. They put in tons of
hard work and dedication to get there. I'm not a jerk and certainly not trying to be one here. I'm 33 years old and playing the game I love still and
just trying to help some new guys out. This is constructive criticism, not demeaning in any way. You have to be able to take criticism and learn from it. I got
some pointers at the tourney a couple weeks ago from one of the Wiseguys that's 10 years younger than me and greatly appreciated the advice. Alot people
don't have the resolve to be told your doing something wrong, but it's a must have trait in this sport. I sincerely wish you guys the best of luck and
hope you stick with it.

livin4real wrote: They did get their "stuff" pushed in and their asses handed to them quite a few times sunday, yet they still walked off the field smiling and were willing to go right back on field to try again. So you shouldn't go assuming that they're just some push-overs until you actually go out and play with them. these guys aren't that bad for first timers and they have the willingness to learn. I'm not meaning to turn this into a smack talk thread by no means but you need to stop and think before you post, this thread was all about different opinions on markers. He chose to spend alot of money on a marker and gear, that's his choice, not a choice worthy of you demeaning him over. so stfu or gtfo. Mid player; strong enough to hold down the back or rush the 50. |

OMG, a few missed the whole part about not being demeaning at all. I said I truly hope you guys stick with it and I meant it. I'll be the first person to
help anyone out that I can, ask around. Again, I wasn't being demeaning at all, I was explaining my earlier post. This is where the whole "can't
type to match meaning" problem comes into play. It was typed and meant a totally different way then you guys are taking it. I welcome any new players to
the sport, we need them more so now than ever. I'm glad you and your guys aren't down about the first outing. My point about all the gear was meant
that you don't have to feel you have to have the latest and greatest to fit in. I don't know how else to post so that it sounds like I'm
supportive. I helped run Paintball Indiana (62-Splat) when it very first opened up in the 90's and do my best to promote the sport I love. Like I said I
can't type with the sincerity that I would show when talking to you face to face. You would have found this conversation to have been way different than
the way your taking it on here. I don't care if you have a blinged out marker or gear (you can't miss mine, it's hot pink) I just don't want
you to think that's what you need to fit in and I'm sorry you took it that way and apologize it was in fact taken that way because it wasn't meant
to be. I also tip my hat to you for serving our country and will gladly buy you a round should the chance arrive.
And Sen, I never said they were pushovers, and said I really hope they stick with it. I give your crew a compliment then you take my post way out of context and end it with stfu and gtfo? Brian
