And yes I did recommend the ego and to pick one up used on Nation and save alot of money. Any ego is going to serve your purpose just fine. They are all reliable, they all shoot semi or 10bps for tourneys. Money doesn't keep a team together, hard work, dedication and attitude keeps a team together. If you build your team off those traits you'll still have a team when money falls short. You guys haven't played a tourney yet and your already buying all this top-of-the-line gear, custom jerseys, etc. So what happens when you get wrecked the first few times? It's going to happen, it happens to everyone.You won't be able to make excuses about your gear so that brings it all back on you. That's when you find out your teammates aren't really into the tourney scene and having their stuff pushed in after all. It takes a certain attitude to get your ass handed to you and still walk off the field smiling. The good teams out there didn't get that way overnight. They put in tons of hard work and dedication to get there. I'm not a jerk and certainly not trying to be one here. I'm 33 years old and playing the game I love still and just trying to help some new guys out. This is constructive criticism, not demeaning in any way. You have to be able to take criticism and learn from it. I got some pointers at the tourney a couple weeks ago from one of the Wiseguys that's 10 years younger than me and greatly appreciated the advice. Alot people don't have the resolve to be told your doing something wrong, but it's a must have trait in this sport. I sincerely wish you guys the best of luck and hope you stick with it.

I really didn't want to start flaming a friendly chat forum because I don't think your original post was really meant the way it came off, but the reply is getting a little ridiculous. Hate the player not the game right?

First I would like to point out a few things so maybe you will get a better feel for who we are since you seem so interested.

1. The 7 of us are great friends and all work together, our philosophy is work hard play hard
2. The 1st time we played we did use rental equipment and had a blast
3. If there is one thing I know about all of them it's they have tenacity and want to be the best at anything they do

Second, as -J- stated we did get our stuff handed to us and had fun when it happened. I think the first round we didn't even last 20 seconds. We walked off the field each time talking about what we could do to get better and things we noticed others did we could learn from. Although we got stuffed most of the day we did pull a couple of small victories out and that felt great. Sunday only made us want to play more.

Third, I appreciate all of your concern for my money management but at age 35 I think I understand how to balance my checkbook. You say to work your way up,,, why not get good stuff to start? Buying cheap and upgrading seems a waste of money?

Fourth, I am glad when I was in the Army you weren't my commanding officer...you might have sent me into battle the first time with a slingshot and red sweats until I proved I was worthy to have camo and an M-16???

Fifth, buying jerseys was a fun team/friend thing to do. My dad hand painted the logo and we loved it. If you go to a wedding do you wear a suite? Then why not wear paintball clothing when you play paintball???

Sixth, think before you type, your not a real good ambassador for paintball and you come off pampas and angry. I also don't remember saying we had a problem just having the right stuff takes away excuses... unless being new at something is a problem?

Seventh, The country is having tough times and we are just trying to put money back into the economy and support our local small business owners... ei. Indy Extreme Paintball
